Recently, market research firm IHS Markit said that with the faster production of large-size thin film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) TV panels by panel makers in China, the market share of 60-inch and larger LCD TV panels is 2019. In the first quarter, it reached 33.9%, an increase of nearly 10 times compared with 3.6% in the same period last year. In contrast, Korean panel makers' market share decreased from 54.8% to 45.1% during the same period.

In the first quarter, the shipments of large LCD panels from Chinese manufacturers increased from 177,000 to 2,242,000 units, an increase of 11.7 times. At the same time, global LCD panel shipments also increased by 34.5%.

After years of hard work, China's LCD panel production has ranked second in the world. On the LCD TV panel, China's panel manufacturers' shipments have accounted for 30% of the world's total, reaching 77 million, ranking second in the world after Korea.
